Instrument Research Center has been developed from the long period
cooperation of production, study, and research on textile measurement
technology and instrument with Donghua University (the former China
Textile University). Through years of exploring and practicing, a series
of testing apparatus characteristic of advanced technology, high
stability, and credit in market have been developed. These apparatus have
been widely used in large synthetic fiber manufacturers, municipal and
provincial fiber-testing inspection bureaus, entry-exit inspection and
quarantine bureaus, and fiber research institutes. The apparatus developed
by this center can be found everywhere in China, covering the large areas
from Neimeng and Xinjiang provinces to Hainan province and Shenzhen city.
And the quality of the apparatus has been recognized by the public. In
addition, in recent years, the apparatus have been adopted by foreign
enterprises. Led
by Prof. Li Ruqin (PhD. tutor), the research center (company) has gained
great achievements in discipline constructing and science researching on
textile measurement technology, especially in developing the fiber tensile
tester. The XQ-1 Fiber Tensile Tester is one of the most widely used
instruments in fiber production and investigation by synthetic fiber
enterprises. If the XQ-1 Fiber Tensile Tester connects with the XD-1 Fiber
Fineness Tester, it can measure some important indices of the fiber, such
as the strength, elongation, linear density, tenacity, modulus, force at
definite elongation, and specific work of the fiber, etc. The computer can
display the force-elongation curve while the fiber sample is being
extended and save the measured data. The XQ-1 Fiber Tensile Tester can
also be used to measure the wet modulus of rayon fiber, the tensile
property of the high-tenacity high modulus aramid fiber, carbon fiber,
mental fiber, glass fiber, engineering staple fiber, and the pre-oriented
fiber for the quality control during the production process. The recently
developed new instrument, XH-1 Fiber Thermal Shrinkage Tester and XCP-1
Fiber Crimp Elasticity Tester, update the traditional measuring method and
mode. With the advanced digital-based technology they can measure the
thermal shrinkage and crimp ratio of the fiber quickly and precisely. The
apparatus are finely constructed and can be operated with high automation,
and will be widely used in the textile industry. As mentioned above, a
series of patent products, composed of the XQ-1 Fiber Tensile Tester, XD-1
Fiber Fineness Tester, XH-1 Fiber Thermal Shrinkage Tester, XCP-1 Fiber
Crimp Elasticity Tester, and XQ-1B Pre-oriented Fiber Tensile Tester, come
to the new advanced synthetic fiber measuring system. They provide a
modern measuring method for objectively and precisely examining and
evaluating fiber qualities, and for effectively controlling the chemical

Fiber Tensile Tester – Computer Combination When the XQ-1 Fiber Tensile Tester is connected with the computer, the real-time force-elongation curve can be displayed, and the measured results can be analyzed and saved by the computer.

Vibrating Fineness Tester XD-1
Vibrating Fineness Tester is based on string
vibration theory, used for measuring the linear density of single
fiber, providing the average value and coefficient of variation, and
printing the test results by the printer. If
XD-1 Vibrating Fineness Tester is connected with XQ-1 Fiber Tensile
Tester, they can measure specific tenacity, initial modulus and breaking
work of single fiber. The
instrument is based on self-oscillation principle and controlled by a
microprocessor. It is characteristic of high precision, operated
convenience, and smallness of human error. The
instrument is up to the National Standard GB/T 16256-1996, the
International Standard ISO 1973-1995 and the Standards of International
Bureau for the Standardization of Man-made Fibers (BISFA), used for

Fiber Thermal Shrinkage Tester 1.
Introduction XH—1 Fiber Thermal Shrinkage Tester is the latest image-based high precision testing apparatus. It is developed to measure the dry thermal shrinkage of chemical fibers. The apparatus obtains the length of each objective fibers on the sample cylinder with a camera, calculates the difference of each fiber length before and after it is thermally treated, and then automatically calculates the average fiber thermal shrinkage and variation coefficient. The testing process is monitored by a computer, and the testing data are displayed and printed automatically. The
apparatus measures fast for using image processing method, and the results
are precise and reproducible. The apparatus can be easily operated and it
works with good stability. The
apparatus accords with the demand of standardized measuring method by the
trade standard FZ/T500004—1991.
It is used to measure the dry thermal shrinkage of chemical fibers. And it
can be widely used in man-made fiber manufactories, fiber-testing
inspection bureau, and scientific research institutions, etc. 2.

Fiber Crimp Elasticity Tester 1.
Introduction XCP-1
Fiber Crimp Elasticity Tester is the latest developed high precision
testing apparatus. It is used to automatically measure the crimp ratio,
crimp elastic recovery percentage, and number of crimps of the fiber. It
adopts the image processing technology to automatically count the number
of crimps within the length of 25mm on the fiber sample when the fiber
bears the light load, thus it eliminates the uncertainty of manually
counted results. With the force sensor the apparatus measures the values
of the light load and heavy load that stretch the fiber sample, and
measures the fiber lengths when the fiber is under the light load and
heavy load respectively, then it calculates the crimp ratio automatically.
It also measures the fiber length after the fiber have burdened the heavy
load and got relaxed, and then calculates the crimp elastic recovery
percentage of the fiber. The
apparatus is finely constructed and is characteristic of fast measurement,
precision, high stability, and convenient operation. The apparatus is up to the national standard GB/T 14338-1993. It can be used to test the crimp properties of each natural and man-made fiber. Therefore, it is widely used in textiles manufactories,fiber-testing inspection bureaus, and scientific research institutions, etc. 2.

XQ-1,
XD-1 – Computer Combination The
XD-1 Fiber Fineness Tester measures the linear density of the fiber sample
first, then the tensile test of the same fiber is carried out by the XQ-1
Fiber Tensile Tester. Hence, through the measured results of the two
apparatus, the strength per unit linear density——the
fiber tenacity is calculated. At the same time, some other indices are
obtained, including the fiber strength, elongation, force at definite
elongation, modulus, and specific work of the fiber, etc. This kind of
fiber tensile test can eliminate the influence on the measured results by
sampling errors. Therefore, it is recommended by the international
organization for standardization as the priority method of fiber tensile

Pre-oriented Fiber Tensile Tester The
XQ-1B Pre-oriented Fiber Tensile Tester, which is the latest developed
testing apparatus, is used for the quality control during the production
process of polyester staple. The apparatus is characteristic of pneumatic
clamp, automatic operation, and fast measurement. It is developed for the
measurement of single polyester raw fiber. The
apparatus measures the single value and statistic value of six indices,
which are the natural elongation, EYS1.5, natural draw ratio, maximum draw
ratio, breaking strength, and breaking elongation of the pre-oriented
fiber. XL-1
Yarn Tensile Tester The
XL-1 Yarn Tensile Tester, which is up to the international yarn testing
standard, is characteristic of pneumatic clamping and data processing. It
is precisely constructed and is operated with convenience and automation.
In addition, it works with high stability. The apparatus can be used for
the tensile test of all kinds of staple and filament yarns. The
force measurement range of the apparatus includes 0-3000cN and 0-200N. The
gauge between the upper and lower clamps can be set 500mm or 250mm
(200mm). And the test speed is adjustable within 0-1000mm/min. The
